Shepherd Legacy – Ch. 2 (Riverview/Twinbrook)

This is Brandon trying to make some extra money after work at the Bistro in Riverview.
RV 01

He discovered something out in the fields that ended up changing his life drastically.
RV 02

In a few days, he had given birth to an alien child and was trying to keep him secret from everyone.
RV 03

He kept to late nights as he took his young son out around town.
RV 04

He used the alien technology that his abductors left and kept his child safely hidden from the world….and time itself.
RV 05

Before long, his secret was getting hard to contain so he changed his identity and the two moved to Twinbrook.
TB 1

Brandon took to firefighting to make a living for them both.
TB 2

The entire town depended on him and was always thankful when he would save the day.
TB 3

Until a massive cloud appeared over the town….
TB 4

Terrified, Brandon bravely headed toward the source of the trouble that was brewing…
TB 5

By this time, his alien son had grown up and was still being kept a secret from the town…
TB 6

along with another curious life form….
TB 7

Brandon uncovered the source but found that more danger was to come, and it would mean that he would need to move the family again to outrun it.
TB 8

A very nosy sim began to see the cracks in Brandon’s story and he knew that time was running out. It was time to hit the road again.

The Shepherd Legacy – Ch. 1 (Sunset Valley)

My name is Llandros and I do YouTube videos (Llandros09) on mainly the Sims 3. I created a challenge called the Ultimate Sim and have been recording one version (my female sim) and just playing the other (male version) on my own. I have been posting short updates in a few threads and wanted a place to collect them all. Unfortunately, I did not start taking screenshots at the very beginning of the challenge but have been working on them periodically.

The basic premise of the challenge is to create one ultimate sim that has mastered all the skills and their challenges as well as has completed every job available in the game. In addition, they need to either become every occult type or add each one into the family at some point. The challenge starts in Sunset Valley and runs through all the official EA towns.

The ultimate sim saves his or her lifetime wish and completes it after becoming the Ultimate Sim. They have to choose a final home world where they will live the remainder of their lives.

Prologue:

I did not record Sunset Valley. Basically, my sim is Brandon Shepherd and he has been chosen to try to become the ultimate sim. He enrolled in University for a Business degree and then returned to complete three jobs. Every full time job he takes on he is required to do for 4 sim weeks (1 year) and every part time job is 2 sim weeks. There are a few exceptions and staying longer in a job for any reason is never a problem.

In Sunset Valley, Brandon completed the Daycare profession, the Business career, and worked at the Bookstore. He mastered the charisma and social networking skills. In addition, he was a werewolf and leveled up his skill as well as collected all metals, rocks, and insects, including the countries.

He moved to Riverview and added a second degree to his name – the Fine Arts degree. My screenshots pick up here in Riverview where he is working as a chef at the Bistro. Hope you enjoy!

The Ultimate Sim Challenge (Part 1)

The General Guidelines (Part 1)

Each town, or season, has it’s own set of items that you should work on.  Primary skills should be mastered, but skill challenges are ongoing.  You can complete them at a later time if you like.  Free skills are ones that do not impact job performance or academic performance.  If your sim starts learning a skill before it should be done, don’t worry.  Just try to direct them to not do that skill if at all possible.  As you near the end of a season, you might actually start working on a few skills in order to do well on the college aptitude test.

When setting up your town, look to see if you will even be working on that skill to determine if you need to add the venue.

1 year is equal to 4 sim weeks.  All jobs should be held for 1 sim year unless they are part time.  Part time jobs only require a 2 week commitment.  You may stay in the job longer if you wish or need to in order to reach the highest level of the career.  You can rearrange the order in which you complete the jobs if you like.

Your children/spouse can be the same occult status as you.  You may cure them at anytime, but once cured, they cannot change again.

Aging – keep the lifespan on 90 days/  Keep your sim young any way that you can as long as you have unlocked the skill.

Be sure to review the Odds and Ends section here for a few more details.  The rule of thumb is to always look at something and if your sim can do it, then you need to!

Odds and Ends

During the challenge, you will need to try to accomplish everything that one sim can possibly do.  Most of the skill challenges will do this for you.

Collections – You can create and/or collect as many items as you want, but once you have found a gem, insect, metal, etc. then you must keep 1 of them in a chest either on your lot or in your family inventory.

Children and Spouses

You may marry a sim from any town that you are using during that ‘season’.  Be sure at some point to marry an alien so you can get the spaceship.  You will need it for handiness upgrades.

  • There are many methods to have kids.  You must use EACH of these at least once during the challenge:
    • Normal pregnancy
    • Alien birth (either through male abduction or regular birth)
    • Plantsim
    • Engineer a child (Oasis Landings)
    • Genetic Merger (Door of Life and Death)
    • Wishing Well (Lucky Palms)
    • Time Machine
    • Cloning (be sure to raise it and marry it into the family line)
    • Adoption
    • Imaginary Friend (turn them real at child age and raise as your own.  They must become a family tree member and produce a child.

Once a sim is in your house and under your control, you must keep them in the house until their death.  The tombstone of the most recently deceased spouse of your Ultimate Sim candidate must remain on your current lot at all times.  All others can be placed in inventory if you like.  This will satisfy the ‘ghost’ requirement for the challenge.

Spouses and children may work, go to University, and do whatever is needed to complete their lifetime wish.  It is not required for them to do anything however.

  • I am currently playing a version of this that drops the child and spouse requirements.  Instead, you may choose a spouse and have children using the various methods but must keep them alive and young with you for the duration fo the challenge.  When you get to the final destination, you move them out on their own and then work on having all the other type of children that are possible in the game.  It’s a different option and I have been enjoying it quite a bit.

This blog is always changing as I am still play-testing the challenge.  As i run across new items, I will continue to add them here.

Introducing … The Ultimate Sim Challenge by Llandros

Welcome to the start of a new Sims 3 Challenge!  I have been playing this for a while and having a great time with it.  I will outline the things you need to do to get started and show you what you need to do.

I have put together the basic premise of the challenge in this blog.  There are 4 parts and inside each I have detailed the most important parts of what you need to do while in these different towns.  It is fairly straight-forward but if you have any questions, please leave a comment so that I can clear up any points.

As I run across things that I have forgotten, I will note them in the blog.  This is a work-in-progress and so some items may come up from time to time.

Hope you enjoy it and let me know if you are playing it!
